It’s Just a Corner

My family is going through some very difficult things. To keep my sanity, when all the noise is pounding against the inside of my brain, I crochet. I pick up the hook, and I work the design in whatever way I choose. Before there was crocheted mandalas, crochet was a mandala. Your soul comes out in all the knots and twists and you see a pattern that becomes a thing of beauty.

In graduate school, my MFA professors said, “Trust the process.” Now I tell my students that. Lately, I’ve had to remind myself of this. Trust the process.

What are you all working on? What motivates your stitching?

Those colors are gorgeous! And I love the stitch pattern.
I’m waiting on some clear elastic from Amazon so that I can improve my halter design. While I’m waiting, I’m trying to figure out the math to turn one of my full-length sweaters into a cropped style. It’s all side-to-side ribbing, so loads of stretch. But I need to raise the neckline because the original design has a very deep V-neck, and it’s too deep for a shorter version.
I wish you and yours weren’t having such a rough go. All of my good wishes.

Thanks, Josi 😊 Your sweater sounds gorgeous! Everything you do is brilliant. Is that what you’ve been showing on FB? You have a halter there. Is that the same one, or different?
