Can You Crochet a Knitting Pattern?

The quick answer is yes. Yes, you can absolutely, 100% crochet any knitting pattern. I’ve done it a million times. Sometimes, a knitting pattern looks best knitted, but other times, you can take a knitting book you found at a thrift store or a yard sale, and use those images to guide your crocheting. And this is the key here–if you’re going to transliterate a knitting pattern into a crochet one, you’re going to need to be visual about it. Because casting on does not equal chains and a single stitch does not equal a knit stitch or a purl.
